Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC) under the aegis of Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India has been set up to promote export of handloom products from India.

As a nodal organisation, HEPC has been organising participation of Handloom Exporters/Manufacturers from various parts in various international events to showcase exclusive products of handloom industry to buyers of the world community. Chile is one of the major importers of Indian handwoven products and it is positioned at 15th place in the list of top export destinations. The total handloom export to Chile was US$ 3.18 mn during 2021-22 with a 1.19% share of total exports of handloom products from India. During 2021-22 exports to Chile have increased when compared to previous year.

In view of the potential for expansion of trade with this region and to increase the business of India Handloom/Textile products to Chile, the HEPC with support of Embassy of India is organizing the Buyer Seller Meet – Chile during 22nd – 23rd March 2023 at Hotel Marriott Santiago, Avda. Kennedy 5741, Las Condes, Santiago.

This event will have a participation of 20 manufacturers/exporters of handloom products from all over India, and about 50 Chilean trade visitors will be participating in this event. This Buyer Seller Meet (BSM) is being organized as approved under Market Access Initiative (MAI) scheme of Government of India. Interested buyers/importers of Handloom/Textile products from Chile and others are welcome to join the BSM.
