On 08 October 2026, the Embassy participated in the Consultation Virtual Meeting for the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Region, organised by the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Secretariat in preparation for the Ninth Session of the ISA Assembly, scheduled to be held from 2-5 November 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, India. The consultation provided an important platform for engagement with ISA Member Countries from the LAC region on preparations for the upcoming Assembly and advancing collective efforts towards solar energy deployment, clean energy transition and sustainable development.

On 07 October 2026, the three Chilean media professionals who participated in the Familiarisation Visit to India from 18-27 August 2026 visited the Embassy for a post-visit interaction. They shared their experiences and impressions from the visit and discussed key takeaways from their engagements in India. The interaction also provided an opportunity to exchange views on enhancing media engagement and further strengthening people to people ties between India and Chile.

On the occasion of #SwachhBharatDiwas, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi administered the Swachhata Pledge to all officials of the Embassy of India, Santiago, reaffirming collective commitment to cleanliness, hygiene and a cleaner, greener future. As #SwachhataHiSeva2026 culminates on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Embassy joins the nationwide resolve of “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat”, strengthening the spirit of Jan Bhagidari and making Swachhata a shared responsibility and a way of life.

On 28 September 2026, Mr. Prashant Juneja, International Business Lead, Dunar Foods Ltd., met with the Embassy team to discuss opportunities for expanding the presence of Indian Basmati rice in the Chilean market and strengthening bilateral trade ties. Dunar Foods Ltd. is participating in the Espacio Food & Service 2026 exhibition, being held from 29 September to 1 October at Espacio Riesco, Santiago, showcasing India's premium Basmati rice to the Chilean market.

On 25 September 2026, Shri Vijender Gupta, Hon’ble Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, accompanied by his spouse, Dr Shobha Vijender, met Hon’ble Mayor of Municipality of Providencia Mr. Jaime Bellolio, accompanied by Mr. Leopoldo Vallejos, Coordinator of the Cabinet. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on urban governance, municipal administration and public service delivery, while exploring avenues for greater institutional cooperation between India and Chile.

Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi hosted a reception at the Embassy Residence in honor of the visiting Speaker of Legislative Assembly of NCT of Delhi Shri Vijender Gupta. The event brought together prominent members of Indian community in Chile for an engaging dialogue on India’s rising global footprint, expanding bilateral relations and the strong cultural bonds developed by the diaspora between India and Chile.

On 25 August 2026, received Mr. Manish Kiri, Chairman, Kiri Industries Limited, and Mr. Hemil Kiri, Head of Supply Chain Management, Indo Asia Copper Limited. Discussions covered their recent engagements and ongoing activities in Chile, as well as opportunities for further strengthening business and commercial linkages between India and Chile.

On 19 August 2026, held discussions with representatives of Universidad Ayurveda (UNIAYU) on the upcoming Ayurveda Day celebrations in September 2026. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange ideas on the celebrations and on promoting greater awareness of Ayurveda and its holistic approach to health and well-being in Chile.

On the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day celebrations on 15th August 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi felicitated the top performers from Chile in the Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz. She congratulated the participants for their impressive knowledge of India and enthusiasm to learn more about its history, culture, achievements and contemporary transformation. The initiative helps deepen the connect of the Indian diaspora and friends of India with Bharat.

The National Day Reception highlighted the growing presence of Indian companies in Chile through a special video featuring insights from Indian businesses, including Public Sector Enterprises. Mahindra Group also showcased two of its models, the XUV 3XO and a Mahindra Pickup. We thank all the participating companies for their valuable contribution and support in strengthening India-Chile economic ties.

A special exhibition, "From Shunya to Ananta: The Indian Civilisation’s Contribution to Mathematics,"was showcased during the National Day Reception in Santiago. Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi explained to Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs Patricio Torres the nuances of India’s rich mathematical heritage, from the concept of Shunya (zero) to seminal contributions that shaped the advancement of mathematics across civilizations.

On 10 August 2026, Mr. Rajesh Pillai, Founder & CEO of Iron Rose & Co., met Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and team for discussions on strengthening India-Chile trade and business linkages, with a focus on global sourcing, market access, supply chains and fostering greater business-to-business engagement between the two countries.

On 6 August 2026, organised a Pre-Departure Briefing for the three Chilean Media Editors/ Journalists selected to participate in the Familiarisation Visit to India, scheduled to be organised from 18-27 August 2026. The participants were briefed on the programme, travel arrangements and other logistical aspects of the visit. The Visit will provide first-hand exposure to India's rich cultural heritage, economic transformation and democratic institutions, while fostering greater understanding, closer media engagement and stronger people to people ties between India and Chile.

On 05 August 2026, participated in a virtual meeting with the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) to discuss promotional activities for the 62nd IHGF Delhi Fair (Autumn) 2026, scheduled to be held from 13-17 October 2026 at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, Delhi NCR. The interaction explored avenues to enhance outreach and encourage greater participation of Chilean buyers and importers in India's premier handicrafts sourcing event.

On 4 August 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi attended the presentation of the ECLAC report, "Ruptures and Opportunities: Proposals for Latin America and the Caribbean to Thrive in the New Geopolitical Era", at ECLAC Headquarters in Santiago. The event brought together diplomats, policymakers and experts to discuss the region's evolving geopolitical landscape. Mr. Harsha Vardhana Singh, former Deputy Director-General of the WTO and a member of the ECLAC Commission that prepared the report, participated virtually in the event.

On 30 July 2026, attended the 107th Annual Meeting of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CCS), held under the theme "Visions for the Chile to Come". The event was attended by H.E. Mr. José Antonio Kast, President of the Republic of Chile, and H.E. Mr. Daniel Mas, Minister of Economy and Mining. On the sidelines, interacted with CCS President María Teresa Vial and Ms. Elizabeth Lagos R., Manager of International Affairs, and exchanged views on further strengthening India-Chile trade, investment and commercial cooperation. We look forward to continued engagement with Chile's business community in support of the growing bilateral economic partnership.

On 29 July 2026, Dr. Cristian Tirapegui, Director of Outreach, Faculty of Chemistry and Biology, University of Santiago, Chile (USACH) and his team, along with Dr. Susana Urrutia, Surgeon (M.D.), University of Chile, with training in Ayurveda, met Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and team. They exchanged views on strengthening India-Chile cooperation in higher education, scientific research, public health and the growing interest in Ayurveda as a complementary healthcare system.

On 28 July 2026, participated in the EEPC India webinar on Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2027, highlighting India's growing leadership in mobility, automotive innovation and sustainable transport. We encourage Chilean businesses and industry representatives to participate in the Expo, scheduled to take place in New Delhi from 4-9 February 2027.

On 27 July 2026, participated in the "AGCID's 2025 Participatory Public Accountability Session and 2026 Progress Update" organised by the Chilean Agency for International Development Cooperation (AGCID) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile. The presentation was led by Mr Henry Julien O'Farrill, CEO of AGCID, who highlighted the Agency's key achievements, ongoing initiatives and priorities in international development cooperation.

On 24 July 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and team paid a protocol call on Mr. Álvaro González, Undersecretary of Chile's Ministry of Mining. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss strengthening India-Chile cooperation in the mining sector, with a particular focus on facilitating Indian companies interested in investing in Chile's mining industry. Both sides also explored avenues for collaboration in critical minerals, sustainable mining practices and technology, thus, reaffirming their shared commitment to deepening bilateral economic engagement.

On 22 July 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and team participated in a Book Donation Ceremony at the Municipal Library of Renca, jointly organized by the Municipality of Renca and ISKCON Chile. The Embassy's donation established a permanent 'India Corner', promoting greater awareness of India's rich history, culture, philosophy, literature and democratic traditions. The ceremony, attended by Hon'ble Mayor Claudio Castro Salas and His Holiness Bhaktibhushana Swami, concluded with vibrant cultural performances celebrating India's heritage.

She encouraged active community participation and highlighted the role of the platform in fostering greater engagement. On 21 July 2026, Prof. Andrew S. Philominraj, Director of International Relations, Universidad Católica del Maule (UCM), Talca, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Joshi. On 21 July 2026, Chilean author Vladimir Pastén Silva paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi. During the meeting, he presented copies of the Hindi edition of his book, El Zorro Que Aprendió a Volar (The Fox Who Learned to Fly / एक लोमड़ी जिसने उड़ना सीखा) to the Ambassador. On 14 July 2026, Mr. Jitto James, Assistant General Manager (International Business), Agappe Diagnostics, called on Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and team. On 08 July 2026, the Embassy team visited "Ek Ehsaas", Indian Holistic Wellness & Taste of India Café in Casablanca, an initiative showcasing India's rich wellness traditions and authentic cuisine. The interaction underscored the important role of such initiatives in fostering greater cultural understanding and strengthening the people to people ties between India and Chile.

On 08 July 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and the Embassy team attended a luncheon hosted by the Chile-India Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile at the the National Congress in Valparaíso. The interaction with Hon. Deputy Daniel Bustos Leal, Chair of the Group, and Hon. Deputies from across Chile's political spectrum provided a valuable opportunity to exchange views on issues of mutual interest and reaffirm the shared commitment to further strengthening our bilateral partnership.

On 02 July 2026, participated in the launch of the India Studies Program at the Institute of International Studies, University of Chile. The programme, inaugurated with a keynote lecture by Dr. Devika Misra on "India and Latin America: New Bridges in Times of Change?", marked an important step towards strengthening academic collaboration and promoting greater understanding of India in Chile and the wider Latin American region.

On 02 July 2026, Ambassador welcomed Swamini Prabhaavati and her disciples from the Bhakti Marga organization. Discussions covered the organization's global spiritual outreach and the proposed visit of Satguru Paramahamsa Vishwananda to Chile in 2027, underscoring the role of India's spiritual traditions in fostering closer India-Chile cultural and people to people ties.

On 01 July 2026, Ms. Florencia Burgos, Executive Director of ProHumana, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and team. Discussions focused on strengthening India-Chile business linkages, promoting sustainability and responsible business practices, fostering institutional partnerships and leveraging the deep cultural affinities and shared democratic values between the two countries to further enhance bilateral cooperation.

On 29 June 2026, the Embassy participated in a virtual meeting with its partners in the Government of Uttar Pradesh to discuss the 4th Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2026, scheduled to be held from 25-29 September 2026. The meeting provided an overview of the trade show and its potential to strengthen international business partnerships. As one of India's premier B2B trade exhibitions, UPITS will showcase opportunities across sectors including agriculture, food processing, textiles, engineering, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, IT and handicrafts.

On 22 June 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi held a meeting with Mr. Pablo Salgado, Director of International Relations at Global Consulting and discussed ongoing bilateral collaborative initiatives in scientific and cultural domains between India and Chile including cooperation in Antarctic research, education and environmental protection. Both India and Chile view Antarctica as a global common, which needs to be protected as per the provisions of the Antarctica Treaty System.

On 22 June 2026, interacted with Mr. Shailesh Vaghasiya, CEO of Gospel Pharmaceuticals, Ahmedabad, India. The meeting explored prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation in pharmaceuticals, facilitating greater market access for Indian pharmaceutical products and supporting stronger India-Chile trade and investment linkages in the healthcare sector.

Celebrating the growing cultural connections between India and Chile, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi presented certificates to participants who successfully completed the ICCR-IGNOU Online Hindi Awareness Programme (17 August-6 November 2024), on the sidelines of the International Day of Yoga 2026 celebrations in Santiago. Their commitment to learning Hindi reflects a deep interest in India’s language, culture and heritage, while contributing to strengthening the enduring bonds of friendship and understanding between the peoples of India and Chile.

On 20 June 2026, the Embassy celebrated International Day of Yoga 2026 at the world’s southernmost Hindu temple in Punta Arenas under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”. Organized in collaboration with Templo Hindú Punta Arenas, Fundación Nandwani, ICCR and the Ministry of Ayush, the event brought together members of the Indian diaspora, yoga practitioners and friends of India. The celebration highlighted yoga’s universal appeal as a pathway to health, harmony and well-being, while further strengthening the cultural bonds between India and Chile.

On 18 June 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and team paid a courtesy call on Deputy Daniel Bustos Leal, Member of Chile's Chamber of Deputies and President of the Chile-India Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, at the former National Congress Building in Santiago. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in agriculture, parliamentary exchanges, cultural engagement and people to people ties. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening the longstanding friendship and expanding the strategic partnership between India and Chile.

On 16 June 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and team met senior representatives of Chile’s Ministry of Finance to discuss cooperation in financial markets, sustainable finance, investment promotion and regulatory exchanges. The interaction also explored avenues for collaboration with GIFT City, strengthening financial connectivity and institutional partnerships between India and Chile.

On 16 June 2026, visited Cineteca Nacional de Chile, the National Film Archive of Chile, and held discussions on enhancing India-Chile cultural cooperation through cinema, film preservation, archival collaboration and showcasing the rich cinematic traditions of both countries. The meeting underscored the role of film as a powerful medium for strengthening people to people connections between India and Chile.

On 11 June 2026, Embassy participated in the University of Chile programme highlighting innovation and sustainable energy research. The event featured Prof. Sanjoy Samdarshi of the Central University of Jharkhand and culminated in the signing of an MoU aimed at fostering joint research, academic exchanges and institutional collaboration.

On 10 June 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and team visited SQM Yodo Nutrición Vegetal in Antofagasta during EXPONOR 2026, gaining firsthand insights into Chile's world-leading iodine industry and sustainable mining ecosystem, while exploring avenues for enhanced India-Chile cooperation in critical minerals and industrial innovation.

On 9 June 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and team held a productive meeting with the leadership of the Asociación de Industriales de Antofagasta (AIA) on the sidelines of EXPONOR 2026. The exchange provided valuable insights into Chile’s mining ecosystem, technological innovation and the role of international partnerships in supporting sustainable industrial growth.

On the sidelines of EXPONOR 2026, attended the Asia Night networking event and interacted with industry leaders and business representatives, including ARB Plus, a Punjab-based Indian conveyor belt manufacturer. The engagement underscored the expanding footprint of Indian industry in Chile and the opportunities for collaboration in the mining and industrial sectors.

On 2 June 2026, Embassy participated in a high level meeting between a senior delegation of Coal India Limited (CIL) and Chile's Ministry of Mining, led by H.E. Daniel Mas Valdés, Bi-Minister of Economy, Development & Tourism and Mining. Discussions focused on cooperation in lithium and other critical minerals, investment opportunities and avenues for strengthening India-Chile collaboration in strategic resource sectors, underscoring the growing partnership between the two countries in support of resilient and diversified supply chains for the clean energy transition.

On 29 May 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi administered the "No Tobacco Pledge" to officials of the Embassy of India in Santiago as part of the observance of "World No Tobacco Day 2026". The pledge reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to promoting a healthy, tobacco-free workplace and supporting global efforts to raise awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco use.

On 27 May 2026, office bearers of the Indian Association of Santiago and members of the Indian diaspora in Chile visited the Embassy for discussions on strengthening cultural collaboration and community engagement. On 25 May 2026, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi attended a luncheon meeting hosted by H.E. Ms. Paulina Núñez Urrutia, President of the Senate of Chile. The interaction with women Ambassadors accredited to Chile provided a valuable opportunity to exchange views on strengthening cooperation, deepening engagement and addressing shared challenges, while further reinforcing ties with Chile’s legislative leadership.

On 19 May 2026, held discussions at Codelco premises with Mr. Ignacio Carrasco, Corporate Business Leader for Industrial Cleaning Services and Ms. Soledad Correa, Corporate Business Leader for Energy and Water Efficiency, on worker safety, sustainable mining practices and opportunities for strengthening India-Chile cooperation in the mining and industrial sectors.

On 16 May 2026, Mr. Manish Patel, Head- Business Development (LATAM), Suzlon Energy, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi and her team. Discussions focused on opportunities to strengthen India-Chile cooperation in renewable energy, particularly in wind energy, clean technology and sustainable infrastructure. The interaction highlighted the growing potential for enhanced commercial engagement and reaffirmed the shared commitment of India and Chile towards advancing clean energy transition, innovation and sustainable economic growth.

On 13 May 2026, the India-Chile Business Roundtable in New Delhi, co-chaired by Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Shri Piyush Goyal and H.E. Mr. Francisco Pérez Mackenna, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile, brought together leading industry representatives from both countries to explore new avenues of collaboration in trade, investment, critical minerals, renewable energy, agribusiness, pharmaceuticals, logistics, digital services and advanced manufacturing.

On 14 August 2025, the Embassy of India, Santiago hosted a grand reception to mark the 79th Independence Day of India. The event was honoured by the presence of H.E. Alberto van Klaveren, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile, as the Chief Guest, alongside H.E. Esteban Valenzuela, Minister of Agriculture and Ms. Claudia Sanhueza, Undersecretary of International Economic Relations. More than 200 distinguished guests, including senior Chilean officials, senators, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, academics, Indian diaspora and friends of India in Chile, joined the celebrations.

Embassy of India, Santiago celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm on 15th August 2025. On the occasion, Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi hoisted the National Flag, read out the Hon'ble President of India's address to the nation and also shared key excerpts from the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's inspiring speech delivered from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort, thus, highlighting India's progress, global partnerships and vision for a Viksit Bharat@2047.

Across Continents, Through Consciousness!! Embassy in collaboration with Dhatri School of Yoga & Ayurveda, hosted the first Curtain Raiser for International Day of Yoga 2025, marking the 75 days to the celebration of International Day of Yoga 2025. With vibrant participation from Chilean friends and the Indian diaspora, the event celebrated the spirit of Yoga, holistic wellbeing and unity in wellness.

Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, welcomed Hon'ble Gabriel Boric Font, President of the Republic of Chile, and Mr. Alberto van Klaveren Storkin, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the esteemed delegation in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Discussions were held on strengthening economic and cultural ties especially the exciting prospects in Chilean agribusiness and creative collaborations between Chilean audio-visual industry and Bollywood.

Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, Governor of Maharashtra, met the VVIP delegation led by H.E. Gabriel Boric Font, President of the Republic of Chile, and discussed the increasing cooperation with India in trade & commerce, critical minerals, improving direct connectivity between India & Chile, starting joint ventures in film making and promoting shooting locations in Chile & people to people contacts.

Embassy joined the Maha Shivaratri celebrations at the Brahma Kumaris Center in Santiago, embracing the spirit of devotion and peace. The event featured the unfurling of the Brahma Kumaris flag and a special cake-cutting ceremony dedicated to Lord Shiva. An evening of divine energy, reflection, and cultural harmony, strengthening spiritual ties within the community.
