Make in India Campaign

The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, H.E. Mr. Narendra Modi, will launch the “Make in India” campaign on September 25, 2014 at 10.30 AM in Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. During the last three months the new Government has undertaken several initiatives to promote Foreign Direct Investment in India and to promote India as a manufacturing hub.  To this end the Government of India has established five industrial manufacturing corridors for foreign direct investment. In the last 100 days several measures have been taken by the new government to cut down red tape, and to lay down the red carpet, diminish human interface and make the system efficient with technology, viz.,

 

a)  Best business practices circulated to all States for application

 

b)  Online application process for Industrial Licensing introduced with 24/7 basis accessibility, without human interface,    through the e-biz platform.

 

c)  A major component of Defense products list totally delicensed.

 

d)  Dual use items having military and civilian applications deregulated.

 

e)  Validity of Industrial License extended to three years.

 

All Departments of the Government of India have been advised to:

 

 i)  introduce online returns through a single form

 

ii)  Undertake no inspection without requisite approval

 

iii) Self-certification and Third Party Certification for Boilers Act introduces.

 

iv)  Visa On Arrival Scheme is being announced for business travellers
